Ingrid Voldhaug Roland

Biography

Ingrid Voldhaug Roland is a Valdres dancer and Hardanger fiddle player, raised within the region’s living folk traditions. She has learned from her father, Stian, since early childhood and is an active member of the Valdres folk music and dance community.

Ingrid has competed in both music and dance at Landskappleiken. Dancing with her partner, she won Class B in 2025 and 2026, advancing to Class A. In 2026, she was selected from 540 nominees as one of 50 recipients of Norway’s Drømmestipendet, which supports young artists’ development. As a member of Laget til fremjing av møsegrodde låttar, she helps bring older, forgotten tunes back into active use. She also serves on the steering group for one of Norway’s largest folk music and dance courses for children and young people.

At Ski Dance Weekend 2027, Ingrid will teach Bonde and Valdres Springar alongside Stian. Their shared teaching brings her own artistic practice together with the tradition she has learned from him.
